Shane Larkin has had an eventful summer. One of the premier playmakers on the continent in his rookie Euroleague season with Baskonia last year, as he tells Austin Green, he was ready to join Barcelona, then stay in Vitoria-Gastiez, until the Boston Celtics swooped in to pry away the former Dallas, New York and Brooklyn point guard, bringing him back to the NBA where he had a promising start to his pro career.

Here, he speaks to the ELA podcast, as he reflects on a year at Baskonia that he credits with making himself a better player, not settling for sitting on the bench in the NBA and betting on himself to make a success of it second time around in Boston.

Shane is a laid back character but a phenomenal competitor and it’d be tough to bet against him as he embarks on trying to help the Celtics succeed in the Eastern Conference and beyond.
