The two semi finals in Belgrade happened last night, and boy were they big. About as big as a certain Fenerbahçe point guard’s nuts, as told to ELA by Bobby Dixon’s teammate Brad Wanamaker, as you can hear in our post game podcast.
The reigning champions led from tip to buzzer despite a Zalgiris Kaunas comeback that never quite managed to draw the Lithuanians level. After that, Real Madrid consigned CSKA Moscow to another Final Four defeat to set up a rematch of the 2015 and 2017 semis in the title game. Luka Doncic took plaudits for his calm, level headed display but it was Sergio Llull who fired up Los Blancos and powered the victory.
