ELA’s Sam Meyerkopf was at Sinan Erden Dome for practice the night before the Final Four semi finals tip off, and he caught up with Olympiacos’ Patric Young. The Florida alum is a key part of the Reds’ three-headed centre line that will try to punish CSKA Moscow and former Piraeus hero Kyle Hines as the two battle for a place in the Final tomorrow.
Young talked openly about the challenges of adapting to Euroball - and those ‘veteran calls’, fan culture, practice, his toughest matchups and preparing to go up against Hines for the first time - with a sneaky scouting tip he’s already picked up.
“College practices are, like military, but… shoot, I’m used to the coaches screaming. My coach at Galatasaray was a screamer, so… that’s different. A lot of film, a lot of video….”
