Why, hello there everyone. As you might have heard, the Euroleague Fantasy Challenge is back and it’s our job to get you prepared for the season. Or you could just ignore our advice, which frankly sounds like an equally good idea. The man in the picture is Bobby Brown, Asseco Prokom’s new combo guard. One of us thinks he’s going to ball out some kind o’ crazy this year. In the cast below, we fill out the point guard sections of our teams, tell you some sleepers we like and a few guys that we would never own. For your convenience, we’ve included the player price list below. Big ups to Javier Gancedo over at Euroleague.net for that.
And while you’re listening, join the Euroleague Adventures Fantasy League.

Which fantasy game do you guys play?

Hey it took 11 minutes to name 4 names that you would not take. And talking more about how great those players are instead of just naming that these players are not worth the price.
Latter it is better.

I have posted a comment and had to listen almost all these 10 min again. Try to scroll what you have talked and you shall see.
For discussion:
Bykov - can’t remember the player that would be good in fantasy from CSKA. More - J. R. Holden is not out. He will play. Also Bykov did not look good against Lietuvos Rytas (I mean good for fantasy), on other hand the price is reasonable. Still I do not like to take second Pg in a team - it is always a taking chance, i’d prefer worse, but first Pg in the team.
Sergio Rodriguez - http://www.acb.com/jugador.php?id=B68 - really bad stats for now and first game at Oly. Not my pick so far unless his game shall improve.
Vlado Iljevski - I have heard rumours about that Union Olimpia owns him salary for few month (or I have been mislead?). That is the only reason I do not like this pick. If the money is not the issue I think he might be a good pick.
Bobby Brown - He have put 36 points in friendly match against Lietuvos Rytas, I don’t think he shall put that much in Euroleague (atleast not always) but that’s one match is enough for me to pick him.
Aleksey Shved - maybe, when there is new couch, but earlier CSKA has never been a good place for young talents, CSKA always had good experienced players and used them instead of Russian talents (name me last CSKA grown talent).
General advice for you (if you have failed 2 seasons after first week), when picking your players take into consideration at least one (or best at least 2) his next games. For example Sergio shall play at Olys home - that’s another reason not to pick him.
Imho best picks are (used to be) not from top teams as Pao, Barca, Cska, but from such Cibona, Aseco, Chole Basket, Partizan, Rytas, Žalgirs and other under dogs (remember Marc Saliers, Aleksander Maric, Jamont Gordon, Q. Woods, DeJuan Collins, Holis Price, Martynas Gecevičius and etc.).
This year Rytas and Žalgiris PG’s do not look very good, but I think of Bobby Brown, Vule Avdalovic, Rok Stipcevic.

@Shilas: Wait a second now…Slam is the only one to fail after the first week. I ended up with a team worth over 600. But nice comments, especially the one about picking the players from the lesser clubs. More money usually equals more talent and much deeper, more crowded positions. You mentioned some great examples in your list, and it’s the same reason why production from someone like Marko Tomas with Fenerbahçe will live up to the minutes/stats he got late in the season with Cibona. Later in the season, Top 16 especially, it’s a little safer to pick these guys with the season on the line.

Sorry Bobby Brown did play (he is named Robert Brown there). Each of them has played around 35 minutes, but Brown this time has had only 7 eff.
Can’t pick one.
