For every international star that laces them up in the NBA—Pau Gasol, Dirk Nowitzki, Yao Ming—there are at least a few disappointments—Darko Milicic and Nikoloz Tskitishvili have come to define the word “bust”. But while the rest of the blogosphere hones in on the two poles of NBA Draftdom, teams are built somewhere in between, and the international prospect has come a long way since Nikoloz and and Darko. Guys like Thabo Sefolosha, Nicolas Batum and Omri Casspi usher in a new era of “Euro.” Bye-bye, workout wonder, hello standout effort. So in what is typically viewed as a weak crop of foreign talent, who will emerge as a steal? So make Euroleague Adventures your home for draft preparation, and we promise not to let Christian Eyenga sneak up on you again.

This game just mattered a lot more for Rytas, Euroleague on the line. They wanted it more late, Freaknick thoughts?

Why can’t we have fireworks in American arenas???

@Slam - To describe Pocius as ‘unassertive’ as a scorer is on par with describing Bajramovic as ’soft.’ Maybe a trip to Dictionary.com wouldn’t hurt.

Congrats Lietuvos Rytas… but what I’ll remember of this game is Romanov smiling and waving into the TV cameras at some point in crunch time when his team was trailing with 10 points or so… Describing him as a sociopathic egomanic might be correct, but what does he get out of this? Eternal gratitude of Lietuvos Rytas (the newspaper) in future presidential elections (he tried, but wasn’t eligible)?
[Translate]
Well deserved win for Rytas, congratulations for their fans.
I hope Zalgiris can get rid of the “sociopathic egomaniac” (good definition) soon. My best wishes for them.

Great stuff, Freaknick! Checked this when I had a spare moment during the game.
About Romanov’s post-game conference statement: “It’s hard for me to talk about this, because Lithuania was robbed once again. And you’re all helping them,” said Vladimir Romanov.
[Translate]
Vladimir Romanov is a retard! That idiot fires a coach after a coach in Zalgiris and makes fun of them… what an a**. He wants Kurtinaitis to join the team so that he could be fired and humiliated too! Someone remove him from his position as the owner of Zalgiris!

Noticed it earlier, but did not have to point out you a mistake.
“For a 23-year-old to play all 40 minutes of a championship game and lead his club to a Lithuanian League championship, he needs poise. No word better illustrates the reliability of Lietuvos Rytas’ combo guard.”
Has has celebrated his 22th birthday just 10 days ago (16th May). Therefore he started the finals as a leader being just 21 years old.

Why does it seem like all of my mistakes are math-related? This is something I should work on. Agree?

Luke is a little less athletic then Blair, with better footwork and amazing touch, also awareness around the basket makes him a great util player maybe no starter but energy and rebs.

Serbian players are currently playing “Superliga” - a combined league of Adriatic and non-Adriatic teams. Raduljica, Bjelica and Macvan lead the statistic in front of McCalebb & co
To check it out go to http://www.kls.rs, go to the tab “STATISTIKA”, and click on “Statistika igraca”
Cheers!

“# You will always get paid on time and no it doesn’t matter if the team lost and you had a bad game” - i think this one is not applicable if you play in PAO, or other bigest European teams.

LOL 3 rebounds per game for a 6-11 center
LOL just LOL !!!!!!!!!!

I am not sure why bing sent me over to your but I can say I have been overall intrigued by the comments you have patched together. How much effort did it take so many internet users arriving to your pages? I am new to this.

So what’s your best guess for the number of Euro’s going in first round…zero?
[Translate]
I’d go with 2.5. Seraphin will get picked if he stays in guaranteed with one other sneaking in to the mid-late 20’s. I like Bjelica as a guy who can play right away, and then you’ve always got the chance somebody strange/unexpected hops into the end of the round, hence the .5.
[Translate]
Hey, family willing, i may be stopping by for this. I’ll definitely be around for games two and three as well. The official BallinEurope fearless prediction will also take FC Barcelona in three, but every single victory is by seven points or fewer.
Thanks for the plug, by the way. Chat with you soon, perhaps.
Cheers,
Os

Aw, now, everyone’s disrespecting the international tournament again … i bet that if this poll were taken in Lithuania, the 2003 Championship would be no. 1, no question.

Very, very sad. Especially as he was showing the effort to get back on the court. Mind-blowing how things can change in a couple of years… Macas, Lithuania will always remember you!
Having written the last sentence I realised that I was writing as if a person had died… Though I do feel very sad for the guy. He was one of my two favourite players together with Siskauskas…
[Translate]
Damn, Freaknick, could you help me out. Wrote the comment in the wrong page. Laughing out loud. Will tune in to the ACB finals as well. Go Tau Ceramica… Ooops.. wrong name. Anyway, I’ll be supporting the Basques!

Hey, Freaknick. Just got here. Good to see FC Barcelona’s making a game of it, ha ha.

Geez, another three-pointer by Basile. Do i have to stop dissing him now?

At 22-16, it looks like Barca is still a tad nervous, but i can’t imagine they won’t pull this game out…
[Translate]
no, no! God, i hate to see Pete Mickael sitting down.

Gotta crash, y’all. Sorry — up since 4am; but i’ll surely watch the game in the wee hours tomorrow morning in a doubleheader with Celtics-Lakers. Have fun!
Cheers,

We enjoyed having you, Os. Get some sleep; it looks like we’ll be in for a hell of a series.
[Translate]
I gather that Os voted for “Led Lithuania to a Eurobasket championship in 2003.” But how about you, Simas? Based on your sadness, I’m guessing you went with “Could have been one of the greatest ever without injuries.”
[Translate]
Voted for “Led Lithuania to a Eurobasket championship in 2003” and have a very good reason for that. At that time I was living in Tallinn, Estonia and hadn’t seen practically any Lithuanian hoops from 2001 until the 2004 Olympics. However, I did have a chance to watch the final. Lithuanians working in the embassy (my dad among them) over there gathered with families to watch the final at one place, where we could see the Lithuanian TV on satellite. So yeah, I felt really proud of my country then, really, really proud.
P.S. I have to say I voted twice. The second time being from my mobile, chose the option you thought I would

And how about my boys getting Tibor Pleiss at #31, huh? A-Town internationalizing.
[Translate]
My son, who had Leukemia at the early age of 2, battled it and beat it. He used to get some release from the strain by coming home and shooting hoops in the back yard for hours and hours. Now he’s 15 and has developed into an excellent player (trained by Kevin Owens! and me). Do you have any advice for a kid who’s a rising sophomore shooting guard who’s playing in high school? Congrats on your career and your Deans LIst! we’ll be reading and hoping you ink w/ the Knicks one day soon.

You could say there was a Lithuanian drafted this year, but only in a way - Andy Rautins’ family is originally from Lithuania…
[Translate]
I’ll give Lithuania an assist on the Rautins pick, but you need to wait your turn like everybody else. You might have 3 next year: Motiejunas, Valanciunas, Kuzminskas. Any other Lithuanians we should have our eyes on?
[Translate]
Wooohaaa… Pleiss getting passed ’round like a crack pipe? That must have been a freakin’ splendid crack pipe worth 3m greenbucks in cash considerations. The Thunder really wanted to get him yesterday and stash him away for the future. I haven’t seen much Euroleague games last season but from what I saw in German BBL, EuroCup and the occasional ACB game, our boy Tibor really made progress and will rock… OK, he’s not a traditional NBA player for the five spot but rather a Euroleague style player. And this said: keep in mind that he’s only 19 years old. That’s close to nothing for somebody his size and position in Europe where skill still matters
[Translate]
Tibor should be honored. The Thunder only covet the finest crack rocks. Pleiss joins Durant, Westbrook, Green and Harden on a smokin’ good young team. I wish he were a Hawk.
[Translate]
An assist would certainly fill up the stat sheet a little… I’m not sure if Valanciunas stays in the draft. I mean he should go high, but could he go even higher the next year? I don’t know what the pros and cons are here. Motiejunas in, Kuzminskas in…
and Martynas Gecevicius is shining brighter than both of them, but is 22 at the moment… I have no clue what’s the situation with him. He is more of European style player and I don’t really see him playing in NBA.
